Women’s Soccer remains unbeaten in conference action with a tie at OCU

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio – The Carlow University women’s soccer team battled into double overtime to end in a 1-1 tie against Ohio Christian University Saturday, Oct. 6 in Circleville, Ohio.

The Celtics (5-4-1, 4-0-1 RSC, 2-0 USCAA) continued their unbeaten streak in River States Conference action in the thrilling overtime game against the Trailblazers (5-5-2, 2-1-1 RSC).

Carlow struck first late in the first half on a goal by freshman Allison McLaughlin (McKeesport, Pa.) in the 37th minute to lead, 1-0, at halftime.

Ohio Christian tied the game, 1-1, in the 73rd minute to force the first overtime.

With the score still tied after 100 minutes, the teams took the field for a second 10-minute overtime. Neither team could break the tie in extra time.

Carlow out-shot the Trailblazers 21-9 and 12-6 on goal.

Goalkeeper Paige Schindehette (SO/Bethel Park, Pa.) stopped five shots in a complete game effort.

Carlow and Point Park University remain the only two teams in the RSC without a loss, and will face one another on Oct. 11 at Highmark Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
